Kinect Sports in the Xbox Summer Stadium

15-06-2012

The big Xbox Summer Stadium promotion starts from June 15th, kicking off eight weeks of sporting activities! And in the spirit of this summer's major sports events, Xbox is partnering up with Right To Play. There'll be tournaments, challenges, retail events, deals and prizes, beginning with a free Xbox LIVE Gold weekend from June 15th-17th, opening up core Gold features to all Xbox LIVE members.

Alongside high-profile games like Forza Motorsport 4, Dance Central 2 and FIFA 12, our Kinect Sports pair takes a turn in the spotlight with weekly challenges in Table Tennis and Golf. Fancy your chances? See here for a breakdown of the challenge schedule:

But the main draw for Kinect Sports players is this year's Guinness World Record attempt. On Saturday June 16th, starting at 6pm BST, thousands of living room runners will join forces in a huge effort to shatter the Kinect Sports 100m Sprint record set in April last year. After the amazing response generated in 2011, and with incentives on offer for everyone from charities to individual runners (Xbox donates £1/€1 towards Right To Play for every participant), hopes are high for back-to-back record results!

The Xbox Summer Stadium event runs from June 15th to August 12th, culminating in an exclusive intimate Kaiser Chiefs gig on the closing weekend. Xbox Gold members can watch it exclusively on the Muzu entertainment app on Xbox LIVE, or maybe even win tickets to attend the gig itself.

For now, join us for this weekend's Kinect Sports record attempt or get up in our grill for one of the weekly challenges - there are plenty of top Samsung and Xbox prizes to be won. And remember, the whole promotion is in support of the children's charity Right To Play, so whatever you do, you'll be doing a good thing. See you out there!
